Humming or Crackling Noise on an Induction Cooktop

Humming or Crackling Noises on your Jenn-Air Cooktop

A low humming sound may occur during cooking. This is caused by the amount of energy transmitted from the appliance to the cookware. The sound will quiet or go away when the power is turned down.

A crackling sound may also occur when cookware consisting of different materials is used. The noise is caused by vibrations in the joint faces between the different layers. It may change depending on the amount and type of food being cooked. If desired, try a different power setting or cookware.
