Not Starting - Has Power - Over-the-Range Microwave

Possible Solution

Is the control set correctly?

  • Make sure Control Lock is off.  The Control Lock disables the control panel pads to avoid unintended use of the microwave oven. If "LOC" or "L" or a padlock icon shows in the display, then the control lock feature has been enabled. CLICK HERE for more information on Control Lock
  • Make sure Demo mode (on some models) is off. The Demo Mode is ideal for learning how to use the microwave oven. When set, functions can be entered without actually turning on the magnetron. The microwave oven light will come on, the fan will run, and if on, the turntable will rotate. CLICK HERE for more information on how to set Demo Mode

Was the "Start" button pressed?

Once the cycle has been selected, the start button needs to be chosen.

  1. Touch COOK TIME
  2. Touch number pads to enter time
  3. Touch COOK POWER (if not 100%), touch number pads to enter power level (10 - 90)
  4. Touch the Start control.

Refer to the Owner's Manual for control operation instructions.

Is this the first use of the microwave and is the door completely closed?

If this is the first time using the microwave, ensure that the shipping spacer is removed from the inside of the door. Remove all packaging material and firmly close the door.
