Cleaning Ceramic Glass Cooktop - Electric Range

Possible Solutions

  • Before cleaning, ensure all controls are off and the surface is cool.
  • Turn on the Cooktop lockout function (depending on the model) to prevent unintentional use of the burners.
  • Always follow label instructions on cleaning products.
  • Do not use steel wool, abrasive powder cleansers, chlorine bleach, rust remover, or ammonia to avoid damaging the cooktop.

How to Clean

Cleaning Step Tips and Recommendations
  1. Remove food/residue with a scraper designed for ceramic glass cooktops.

  • For best results, use the scraper while the cooktop is still warm but not hot to the touch. It is recommended that you wear an oven mitt while scraping the warm cooktop.

  • Hold the scraper at approximately a 45° angle against the glass surface and scrape the residue.  It will be necessary to apply pressure to remove the residue.

  1. Apply a few dime-sized drops of affresh® cooktop cleaner / ceramic glass cooktop cleaner to the affected areas.
