Hard to Slide Rack(s)

Possible Solution

Is the range level?

  1. Place a standard flat rack in the oven.
  2. Place level on the rack and check levelness of the range, first side to side; then front to back.
  3. If the range is not level, pull the range forward until the rear leveling leg is removed from the anti-tip bracket.
  4. Follow the directions in the Owner's Manual on how to adjust the leveling legs.

Do the racks need to be cleaned?

Debris and food buildup could cause the racks to not slide properly. Try cleaning the racks and checking the rack channels for buildup on the oven cavity wall. To help racks that are discolored and/or harder to slide, apply a light coating of vegetable oil.

IMPORTANT: Before cleaning, ensure all controls are off, and the oven is cool. Always follow the label instructions on cleaning products.

  1. Remove oven racks from the oven cavity.
  2. Use a combination of soap, water, and a soft cloth or sponge.
  3. Thoroughly dry with a soft cloth.
  4. Replace the oven racks in the oven cavity.

For harder-to-remove stains, use a steel wool pad.

Are the racks installed correctly?

To move a rack, pull it out to the stop position, raise the front edge, and then lift it out.

  • Position racks before turning on the oven.
  • Do not move racks with bakeware on them.
  • Make sure the racks are level.
