Using the Control Lock - Dishwasher

Possible Solution

Is the Control Lock on?

The control lock is used to avoid unintended use of the dishwasher as well as to avoid unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle. The control lock light will stay on for a short time, indicating that it is activated and all buttons are disabled. If any buttons are pressed while the dishwasher control is locked, the light will flash three times. The door can still be opened/closed while the controls are locked.

Some models have an indicator light for the Control Lock. This may be located on another button, or it may be a button itself, depending on your model. This may be red or green, and appears to be a small padlock. If it is located on another button, you will typically have to press and hold that button for 3 seconds. See image below:

NOTE:  To enable or disable the Control Lock, you must touch the actual button, not the words "Hold 3 sec" below the button. This is the same regardless of your model having a separate Control Lock button, or if it is located on another button (such as High Temp Wash). (See where the blue arrow is pointing).

See the Owner's Manual for your model to determine how to enable and disable the Control Lock for your Dishwasher.

NOTE:  You may need to disable Sleep Mode by pressing either START/RESUME or CANCEL, or by opening and closing the door before you are able to turn the control lock off.

To turn off the control lock feature:

Press and hold the designated control lock button for your model for 3 seconds. The location of the control lock button may vary depending on your model. Refer to the Owner's Manual for the control lock button location for your model. The light will turn off and the control will be unlocked.
