Over Temperature Light - Error Message - Built-In Refrigerator

Possible Solutions

Is the temperature correct?

The Over Temperature feature is designed to let you know when either the refrigerator temperature rises above 48°F (9°C) or the freezer temperature rises above 15°F (-9°C) for longer than 1¹⁄₂ hours. The audio alarm will shut off automatically when the temperature returns to normal, but the indicator light will continue to flash to let you know that an over-temperature condition has occurred, such as a power outage.

If the refrigerator is not cooling properly please see the "Not Cooling Properly" section of this troubleshooting guide.

Was the refrigerator recently installed?

After the refrigerator is turned on, the Over Temperature audio alarm and indicator light will activate every 1¹⁄₂ hours until the refrigerator and freezer temperatures are below 48°F (9°C) and 15°F (-9°C), respectively. To turn off the alarm and indicator light, press the "Over Temperature Reset" button.

Reset power to the product:

If the "Over Temperature Reset" light is blinking or flashing, try resetting the power to the unit by:

  • Power unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) for five (5) minutes.
  • Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s).
  • Monitor the refrigerator for a couple of minutes to ensure the error code does not display again.
  • Verify refrigerator operation.
