Door Not Sealing - Column
Possible Solutions
Why is it important to ensure the door is sealing correctly?
A door that is not sealing properly may lead to the following:
- Frost build-up
- Temperature fluctuation
- The door switch is unable to make contact correctly
Are the Deli/Crisper drawers properly installed?
If any of the deli or crisper drawers are not closed all the way or are not properly installed, it may cause the door not to seal all the way. See "Removing the Deli/Crisper Drawer" section of this troubleshooting guide for full instructions.
Are food packages or beverage bottles blocking the door?
Rearrange containers so that they fit more tightly and take up less space.
Do the door gaskets seem dirty or sticky?
The gaskets need to be cleaned regularly in order for the doors to open and close properly. Dirt and other particles can build up on the gasket surface and can cause resistance. Check the door gaskets regularly to ensure it is clean and free of food particles.
