Cleaning the Wine Cellar
Cleaning the Interior of the Wine Cellar
Clean the wine cellar once a month to avoid odor buildup. Wipe up spills immediately.
- Unplug the wine cellar or disconnect the power.
- Remove all racks from inside the wine cellar.
- Hand-wash, rinse, and dry removable parts and interior surfaces thoroughly. Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water.
Additional Tips
- Do not bring cold glass parts into contact with hot water.
- Do not wash any parts of the wine cellar in a dishwasher since this could damage or irreparably deform the parts.
- To help remove odors, you can wash interior walls with a mixture of warm water and baking soda (2 tbs to 1 qt [26 g to 0.95 L] of water).
Cleaning the Exterior of the Wine Cellar
Stainless Steel: For stainless steel models, stainless steel is corrosion-resistant but not corrosion-proof. To help avoid corrosion of your stainless steel, keep your surfaces clean by using the following cleaning instructions.
- Wash stainless steel surfaces with a clean, soft cloth or sponge and a mild detergent in warm water. Rinse surfaces with clean, warm water and dry immediately to avoid water spots.
- When cleaning stainless steel, always wipe with the grain to avoid cross-grain scratching.
Painted Metal: Wash painted metal exteriors with a clean, soft cloth or sponge and a mild detergent in warm water. Rinse surfaces with clean, warm water and dry immediately to avoid water spots.
NOTE: Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners such as window sprays, scouring cleansers, flammable fluids, muriatic acid, cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches, or cleansers containing petroleum products on exterior surfaces (doors and cabinets), plastic parts, interior, and door liners or gaskets. Do not use paper towels, scouring pads, or other harsh cleaning tools. These can scratch or damage materials.
