Doors are Not Sealing Properly - Undercounter Refrigerator
Does the gasket (seal) seem dirty and/or sticky?
The gasket needs to be cleaned for the door to open and close properly. Dirt and other particles can build up on the gasket surface and can cause resistance or improper sealing. Check the door gasket regularly to ensure it is clean and free from food particles.
Is the refrigerator level?
If the refrigerator is not level, it could cause the door not to seal properly. Level the refrigerator from side to side and front to back so that the door will seal properly.
Is there anything preventing the door from closing?
- Check to make sure food packages are not preventing the door from closing properly. Rearrange containers so that they fit more tightly and take up less space.
- If your refrigerator was recently installed, make sure all packaging has been removed. Some packaging used to avoid damage during shipping could keep the door from opening and closing properly. Remove any material, items, or debris from the door area.
