"Door" Or "Open/Close" - Error Code - Countertop Microwave
Possible Solutions
If "Door" or "Open/Close" is appearing on the microwave display, there are things you can do to troubleshoot. If a message about the door appears in the display, the door has been closed for 5 minutes or more without the microwave oven being started. This occurs to avoid the unintended starting of the microwave oven. Open and close the door, then begin the cycle.
See Door or Open/Close Door Appearing in the Display for additional information.
Is the door latch/lock blocked?
Ensure the door latch is not blocked. Below are some common items that may prevent the microwave from closing or opening:
- Packing and/or shipping material
- Dish or bakeware. Ensure the dish is the correct size for the microwave; an oversized plate will prevent the door from closing.
- Check that the cooking rack (if equipped) is not out of position and not allowing the door to close.
Is the microwave on a level surface?
Place the microwave oven on a flat and level counter, table, shelf, or cart that will not block the opening or closing of the microwave oven door
Does the door contact area need to be cleaned?
- Check to make sure there is no soil buildup on the door contact area
Is the door fully closed?
- Remove all packing material from the microwave.
- Be sure no packing material is blocking the door lock system.
- Close the door firmly.
- Check that the cooking rack (if equipped) is not out of position and not allowing the door to close.
