Leaking from Bottom - Built-In Refrigerator

Possible Solutions

Is the water supply line cracked or damaged?

If water appears to be leaking from the refrigerator, ensure that the water line from the household water supply to the refrigerator is not damaged or cracked.

Is the tubing firmly inserted into all fittings/connections?

Check all connections that are accessible, such as the connection at the supply valve and the connection point of the supply tubing onto the back of the refrigerator. Ensure the tubing is firmly inserted into all fittings and all fittings are tightened.

Is the saddle valve or shut-off valve leaking?

Check all connections at the supply valve, saddle valve, or shut-off valve style, and make sure the tubing is firmly inserted into all fittings and all fittings are tightened.

Is the water filter installed correctly or damaged?

NOTE: This would apply to refrigerators with bottom or base grill filter installation.

If the water filter is not installed correctly, it could cause the refrigerator to leak. Please remove the filter and try installing again. Remove the filter and inspect it for cracks or damage. If the filter is cracked or damaged, replace the filter with a new one. Also, be sure the O-rings are still in place. If the O-rings are damaged or missing, replace the filter.

Does the water filter need to be replaced?

It is recommended that the water filter be replaced every six months, when the indicator light comes on, or as needed.  Chemicals, minerals, and other impurities, found in the water, can cause the water filter housing to break down over an extended period of time, causing the water filter to leak.

If the filter is leaking and you are not able to immediately replace it, leave the filter out so the water system is in bypass mode. With the filter removed, the water system will continue to operate.
